Looks like PoolStars have been pretty busy at the moment.

They've just launched an online snooker game for cash, here's the news;

Real Money Snooker Launch, 6 Dec, 2008

On Monday December 8th at 16:40 GMT, PoolStars will launch snooker for Real Money. What is arguably the most prestigious of all cue sports, now the virtual users on PoolStars can hone their skills on the virtual felt and take each others money while doing it.

In the 1980's Steve Davis managed to win a record six World Championships at snooker, and it is the same Steve Davis that has helped create what many argue as the best online pool simulation software in the world.

What could be described as the hardest cue sport to master in real life, is now just a click away thanks to the online snooker engine powered by PoolStars.

Natalie was right, PoolStars has now fully launched online for cash!

They've also added in a few extra's like an online pool store as well as the ability to see the aim lines for novices but if you read my other posts you'll know I'm not in favour of the aim lines!  Grin

It'll be interesting to see how the $500 FreeRoll they're doing goes...

Does anyone else find it annoying how many of the pay for play pool sites promote themselves as "free pool site" or with slogans like "play pool for free" when the entire thing they are trying to do is really get players to play for real money but they'd rather get you in there playing for free first and then try and convince you to play for real money on pool games instead?

I think it's much better when a site is a lot more up-front about what it's doing and that the free pool games are really only practice pool games getting you ready to play for real money.

I was playing on GameDuell as a practice player recently and was impressed that they spell it all out very clearly that the practice games are there for you to try the games before you play for real money against other pool players. They're not promoting themselves as a free play site, just trying to make sure you're aware that they would like you to deposit at some stage if you're playing on their site.

Good on them!  Roll Eyes

I just game across a site (gameduell.com) that promotes itself as the largest online games site in Europe, with 1.44 million players and ahead of others like AOL and Yahoo!

After a quick registration (pretty easy) and a play on their practice 9-ball pool game which is also available for real money (that's what they really want you to do) it seems like a pretty good site and to have a good number of players.

Game play was pretty good too, although I'm not a fan of pool games that have all of the angles showing where the pool ball is going to go. Where's the fun and skill in that  Huh

Anyone else have feedback on the GameDuell 9-Ball Pool game?

Ok, so it looks like there's someone new on the block. PoolEmpire (www.poolempire.com) have turned up and I have no idea how long they've been around.

It looks like they're part of the same network as Play89 so one has to assume Play89 have either launched their own new brand or they have allowed someone else to join their network with a new brand.

Anyone played on Pool Empire yet?

If anyone has been there it'd be good to get a pool empire review going here on the boards so that others know what it's like.

Cheers

Hey, I haven't played at PoolStars before but I've seen the game around a bit.

I believe you can play for cash and the PS$ are like bonus dollars are in other cash online gaming?

Wasn't it PoolStars that have Steve Davis supporting them?

Hey hey,

Well I know about this game a bit. Taking a look as a Guest all the time. They have changed their strategy, now this game gives cash, so I do probably create an account.
What about you?

Welcome to the forums hamhawk  Grin

That's interesting on you really enjoying Worldwinner. I used to play on Skill Jam a few years back before WorldWinner bought them out and switched all of their games over but didn't continue playing when they switched.

Is there a particular game on Worldwinner that you reckon is the best?
